At Phoenix Luxury, every item is carefully inspected and assigned a condition rating prior to listing. Our assessments are based on overall wear, structure, appearance, and functionality — evaluated against the standards of the luxury resale industry. We are committed to transparency in every listing through detailed photography and honest condition disclosure.

Condition Ratings

Grade 1

Pristine /
Like New

Exceptional pieces that show little to no visible signs of wear. May retain original protective stickers, packaging, or accessories. Structure is crisp, interior is clean, corners show minimal or no wear, and hardware remains bright with negligible marks.

Appears unused or carried only once or twice.

Grade 2

Excellent

Lightly used pieces in excellent overall condition. May show very light corner wear, minor hairline scratches on hardware, or slight interior signs of use. Structure remains largely intact with minimal softening.

Well-maintained with only minor cosmetic wear.

Grade 3

Very Good

Pieces showing moderate signs of normal use while remaining clean and fully functional. May include visible corner wear, light creasing or slouching, surface scratches or light tarnishing on hardware, and minor interior marks.

Gently used with visible but manageable wear.

Grade 4

Good

Pieces with noticeable signs of regular use and age. May include corner rubbing or edge wear, surface scratches, discoloration or tarnishing on hardware, interior staining or marks, visible creases, and some softening of structure.

Functional and wearable with clear evidence of prior use.

Grade 5

Fair /
Well Used

Pieces with heavy wear that remain structurally functional. May include significant corner wear, deep scratches or scuffs, interior staining, hardware fading or oxidation, noticeable shape loss, and possible prior repairs or modifications.

Best suited for collectors, restoration projects, or value-conscious buyers.

Hardware

Bright / Clean
Minimal visible wear. Hardware retains its original finish.
Light Surface Scratches
Minor hairline scratches consistent with careful everyday use.
Moderate Wear
Visible scratches, fading, or early-stage tarnishing.
Heavy Wear
Significant fading, oxidation, discoloration, or plating loss.

Interior

Clean
Minimal or no visible marks. Interior remains fresh and presentable.
Light Signs of Use
Minor dust, light rubbing, or small marks consistent with careful use.
Moderate Wear
Visible stains, ink marks, or general discoloration.
Heavy Wear
Major staining, strong odor, interior peeling, or structural damage.

Structure

Structured
Maintains original silhouette and shape well.
Softened
Slight slouching from regular use; shape largely intact.
Relaxed
Noticeable softening with partial loss of original form.
Collapsed
Significant structural loss or deformation requiring restoration.
